Speaking Engagements
The Ontario Jewish Archives offers a number of different presentations and workshops to organizations and groups throughout the year. Topics include: Preserving Your Family Treasures, Jewish Women of Toronto, Unravelling the Mysteries of Photographs and Toronto's First Synagogues. All proceeds benefit the OJA and its mandate to preserve the records of the Ontario Jewish community. Read more here

Volunteer with the OJA
The Ontario Jewish Archives relies heavily on volunteers to assist with a variety of tasks such as: Identifying people in photographs, processing records and data input. Read more here

A Sense of Spadina Walking Tour
The Ontario Jewish Archives has provided a walking tour of the old Jewish neighbourhood in the Kensington market area for over 30 years. Our lead tour guide, Cyrel Troster, helped develop the tour during the early years and is still involved in overseeing the tour today. For more information click here.

Pape Avenue Cemetery Tour
This tour of Toronto’s oldest Jewish cemetery, established in 1849, is led by Dr. Ellen Scheinberg, Director of the Ontario Jewish Archives. The cemetery is located in the east end of Toronto and belongs to Holy Blossom Temple. Participants will be exposed to the rich history of this cemetery as well as stories surrounding the ordinary as well as influential individuals who were buried there. Toronto Jewish Heritage Greeting Cards
The Ontario Jewish Archives has launched a new product in the form of greeting cards that are ideal for simchas or other occasions. There are eight cards and envelopes in each box. The box sets are perfect to send out as gifts or to keep for yourself and use for simchas, thank you notes or for general messages or greetings to friends and family. The Dr. Stephen Speisman Bursary
The bursary provides financial support to individuals who are working on a thesis, scholarly article or book in the area of Ontario Jewish history, in which records held by the Ontario Jewish Archives are integral to their work. A grant of up to $500 will be awarded each year to assist one or more researchers with some of the costs incurred while conducting research at the OJA, such as travel expenses, photocopying, off-site retrieval costs etc..
